The Ventrac is a great and versatile machine. We have a 2006 4200VXD gas model we purchased 3 years ago used. We replaced a Steiner 430 Max gas unit. The Steiner was a good machine, but the Ventrac has been so much better. We have a 72" standard deck and we purchased a demo 84" contour deck for around bunkers and mounds. The controls are more comfortable and feel natural compared to the older Steiners (I don't know if Steiner has changed the controls). Ours is a gas model and I really wish we had a diesel when it comes to the contour deck because of the size and torque it needs. The Ventrac has been a great machine for us. The only downfall we have had is that grass and debris collect on the radiator shield frequently and should be wiped off every couple hours and even more frequent when it is hot out. Great machine.

    Thanks Paul,
Is the machine hard to service. Are there any issues with turning in tight places ?.

    Conor,
This machine is easy to service. The hydraulic filters are hard to get to if you had to change the hydraulic fluid, but they say not to change the hydraulic fluid unless it becomes dark, which means you probably have something wrong with the system. As for turning, it does pretty good, but just like the Steiner, they do not have a tight turning radius. They do turn pretty well, but you cannot compare them to a typical front deck or zero turn. Our Ventrac has been great. There are so many attachments available and the Ventrac can also use any of the Steiner attachments. It is funny that crew members almost race each other to get on the machine because of how easy it is to operate and how comfortable it is. When I buy equipment, parts and service are key to me buying something and Ventrac normally has parts to me either next day or the following day and service, I don't know because we have not needed it. Checkout youtube and search Ventrac, there are a lot of videos demonstrating the machine and I recommend you have your dealer bring one out and demo. Have any questions, please feel free to call me at 1-937-372-9400.
