How many of you use Dimension 40 WSP for premergent on greens. I know its not labeled for bentgrass but i was told that there are alot of supers that use it.

I was told to use 1 packet per acre. 3 apps- starting in early April, next in early June and the last one in early Sept.

If you dont use Dimension what do you use?

    Thanks for the help,

    Virgil

    Virgil,

I use Dimension on greens but it's Andersons Turf Fertilizer 0-0-20 with .164% Dithiopyr Herbicide on my greens. It is labeled for it. I go out at the 3.5 lbs. of product per acre and will two split applications about a month apart.

I know one of our distributors also gets an Andersons 10-0-10 or 10-3-10 product (I can't remember except the Nitrogen and dimension rates) with .102% Dithiopyr, (it's not a normal item as I understand it, they will make so much of it as distributor order and need). Then the people using it will make 3 applications 3 weeks apart. It is cheaper per bag, but about the same cost per acre until you add the labor, but I believe it is a popular product down in our part of the Ozarks.

Dimension, I believe, used to be labeled for greens. They pulled the label to cover themselves as there was an issue. Dithiopyr is in the same class as prodiamine and pendamethalin, a DNA type herbicide, and will cause root stunting. My thought has been to use a root enhancer product along with the pre to counteract the stunting.

I second what Mel says about the Andersons product. I used it at a previous course with great results. Did the two split apps, the first one with some N, and the second was the 0-0-20.

I've used Anderson's 10-3-10 fertiizer with .164 Dimension for years on bent/poa greens doing only one application at a 3.5#/M rate. I've never had any break through and go on the GDD schedule for pre-emergents. Nice product.

Thanks for the Help guys. Ive decided to take your advice and use the Anderson's 10-3-10 fertiizer with .164 Dimension.
Off the top of your head do you know what the spreader setting for the Andersons 2000SR is for this product.

    Thanks
