I'm located at Liberty Lake Golf Course in the state of Washington and have come upon a problem that no one in this area has ever experienced. I run Toro DT 54 and 55 sprinkler heads on my course and in the last week and a half have had to dedicate at least two of my staff to pulling internals and cleaning worms and leeches of the intake screen and out of the stators of those heads. The theory is they are entering from my irrigation lake in the form of larvae, pupa, or whatever you call young worms and leeches and maturing in my irrigation lines to at some point and time end up stuck in my sprinklers causing the head to perform very poorly. Has anybody ever heard of this or experienced it, and what was the solution to stopping this madness?
