   Has anyone seen or have a formula for determining the useful life of maintenance equipment in hours? Obviously times will vary based on size, use and application. I'm working on justifications for replacement.

   There is no formula. You need to work to define what your standards will be, then try to approximate a timeframe at which your equipment will no longer reasonably allow you to attain your standards.

   This is some information I received from the USGA.
   
   1hour will equal 77 miles. Their rule of thumb is to replace 15% of the total replacement value of your entire fleet for new equipment each season. Say your replacement value of all your equipment is 1.1 million then $165,000 of new equipment should be purchased each year to have your fleet remain current and efficient. Hope this helps. I have a 17 year old fairway mower still operational. After 5 years of operation we try to at least replace our tri-plex greens mowers.
