    1) LSU
    2) ALABAMA
    3)OKLAHOMA
    4)WISCONSIN
    5)OKLAHOMA STATE
    6)STANFORD
    7)BOISE STATE
    8)OREGON
    9)CLEMSON
    10)ARKANSAS
    11)MICHIGAN
    12)GA TECH
    13)SOU CAROLINA
    14)NEBRASKA
    15)ILLINOIS

Surprises mid way through the seaon..........Michigan, Illinois, Clemson, K State, Arizona State
Disappointments...............FSU (by far the biggest flop), Texas (Mack should have kept Will M and the alum probably feel the same after Sat), TCU, N.C., Auburn

Any of the top 6 in my opinion are very good football teams and capable of winning it all if they stay focused and of course going injury free. Next week we finally get the computer polls and the geeks start punching in numbers.........strenght of schedules come into play.............it hurts Boise in my opinion and still not convinced how good the really are...........sorry Sean..........and Mel there is always next year..........they played early above their skills but should not have lost to Wake for what the 4th time in 6 yrs?..............and for the first time in 3 decades............(some of you guys reading this were not alive) that all of the big 3 in the sunshine state, FSU, Miami & UF are out of the Top 25

And maybe the Big 10 may have some competition with Ron Zook and the Fighting Illini in the hunt

Weekly forecast........some very interesting games this weekend in anticipation of the Sunday nite release of the first BCS poll.

LSU #1 vs Tenn.......+15.5........103,000 fans clad in orange overalls and mouthing every word to Rocky Top......enough of a distraction in itself, never mind playing the game. UT is hurt, but Dooley remembers the end of the game last year in Tiger Stadium.........give the points

ALA # 2 vs Ole Miss........+25.5.........think sometimes feeling like a Nutt is not good......this week in particular......a sunami hits the Grove in Oxford this weekend

OKLAHOMA #3 vs Kansas...+ 34.5.........could be one of the two biggest routs of the weekend.........PU......sorry KU stinks........the third teamers for OU will play a lot

WISCONSIN #4 vs Indinana.....+40.........the Badgers scored 83 last year.......may do it again sorry Clay

OKLAHOMA STATE #5 vs Texas....+7.5..........texas may be mad at Oklahoma after last weeks shellacking but may be in for another.........I don;t think it will be a close as the talking heads think...Cowboys want to keep pace with their in state rivals

STANFORD #6 vs Washington.....+ 21.......anothe big game for Andy Luck........give the points

BOISE STATE #7 vs Colorado State....+32.......another snoozer for the Broncos.......piling up scores in anticipation of Sunday nite

OREGON # 8 vs Arizona State....+ 16..........one of the best games of the weekend........really liked the Ducks all year but think the Sun Devils can keep it within the spread even on the road........love to watch this one

CLEMSON #9 vs Maryland....+7.5......the turles cost me money last week, one of my few losses on the weekend.........the Tigers will do what the Yellowjackets couldn't do........cover

MICHIGAN #11 vs Mich State.....-3.......this game is like State vs ND early in the year.......is it a trap? both ranked teams playing in Lansing......give the points ..............i think

GA TECH #12 vs Virginia...+ 7.5...........Cavs getting points at home.......both have good O and Virginia has the third best D in the ACC.........not sure what that means but its a stat...........take the points in a close game

SOU CAROLINA # 13 vs Miss State....+ 3.5...........cowbells will be ringing..........Spurrier has kicked Garcia his QB off the team for the 6th and last time.........he says..........this game could be a good one two...upset special

ILLINOIS #15 vs Ohio State....+4............for the second time in this thread......sorry Clay.........I like Illinois to make it to 7- 0............I had just been born the last time t his happened..........let you figure that out

Baylor vs Texas A&M should be a good one..........Baylor sued A&M to keep them from leaving the Big 12....so some bad blood between the two.............A&M needs some redemption for a very underacheiving season

Thanks for the sympathy vote, but I can't agree. The young Vols first lost their best player to injury a couple of weeks ago, now they've lost their starting QB. The team is too young (70% of roster Frosh or Soph) to be equipped with either the depth or competitive maturity to overcome the injuries. To quote the greatest rock n' roll song of all time (AC/DC Sin City), we "ain't got a hope in Hell, that's my belief." Have fun in K-ville if you're going. I'm sure the fans and the team will put out their best effort, but it's not going to be close.

The ASU v. Oregon game is going to be interesting. ASU's defense shut down USC's offense and SC is extremely talented on that side of the ball. Maybe an upset special but Autzen is a tough place to play.

"Not so fast my friend," on the Stanford v. Washington game. The Huskies have proven to be pretty game this year and that's an awful lot of points to give. I like them to cover and maybe pull off the stunner.

My kid's pop warner team has a bye Saturday so I might actually get to watch some games live!

I think I'm with Red on this one.

We're off to St. Louis this weekend, 52 bands playing Friday and Saturday, 12 make finals. We asked the question, what happens if we don't (Nick is a freshman)? None of the upperclassmen kids Nick asked know, because the band always has, got my fingers crossed. I'll have to get the list and make my predictions. Some bands we have seen this season, others are coming from as far as South Dakota and Ohio.
