My club purchased a speed roller at a auction and have been having issues with it. Drives fine from trailer to back of the green however it doesn't even want to try coming back to the front of the green. Have adjusted belts and chains according to the Manual but no solution. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks again guys

if the roller is hydraulic check the hydro bypass valve . this is used to disengage the pump for towing or pushing
. usually located on side of pump and is a hex shape somewhat like a bolt head.

We have three of then, if you are talking about the yellow ones? If you bought it at an auction you may have to rebuild it. Newe bearings, clutches etc. . We found clutches can wear fast on these especially if operator isn't properly trained. Rebuilt all ours once already. Also make sure the rubber traction roller is down hill when trying to go up.. When adjusting clutches they are sensitive and we usually do it on the course, leave cover off and adjust it on the green.

I also should have said the reason we have 3 is because we roll at least 6 times a week during the season so if one goes down we have a back up, and one usually goes down, they can be a real pain.

We have a couple of these rollers we acquired for next to nothing and they can be challenging to get adjusted. Usually, adjusting the clutch gap will do the trick but it doesn't take much of an adjustment to help one direction while hurting the other. Like Mike says, do it on the course with the cover off but watch out you don't get a pant leg caught in the chain. If you can't get it by adjusting the gap then it's probably time for new clutch discs/sprockets. We replaced our discs and it's been doing good for about a season and a half.
