We have recently received the newest version of the Toro Flex 21. They have changed the design on how the basket mounts onto the frame. When the basket gets half full we notice the cutting unit starts to dig into the greens. Once the basket is emptied the issue goes away. The entire design theory behind this basket mount is that the weight of the basket should be distributed on the frame and not on the actual cutting unit.

Has anyone else experienced this issue on the new model flex 21? We had the older model flex 21 and never had this issue. Greens do not have excessive thatch. Current HOC is at .110. Our operators now empty the baskets when they are half full.

Thanks in advance for any related comments/issues.

Update on the flex 21 for those who are interested. The new flex 21 units were delivered with a more aggressive bedknife than what we were using on our old units. We are now trying a less aggressive bedknife on two units to see if there is any difference. Early indications show an improvement in the scalping issue.
