Was mowing greens the other morning and noticed that the back reel was turning much slower than the front 2 reels. Looked to see if anything was in the reel preventing it from turning at typical RPM's, also replaced the reel cog, thinking it might be stripped. With new reel cog it still was spinning much slower than the front 2 and was turning so slow that it wasn't cutting any grass. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Bad reel motor? Try switching the rear reel motor position with one of the front reel motors. If the problem follows the rear reel motor-problem solved.

Not sure how old it is. Does it have those valves on the hydraulic lines used to slow reels down for backlapping?

    Chris:
How many hours do you have on the machine? Both of the previous comments are good starting points . Sounds like the reel motor is allowing fluid to by pass.

My past experience with this problem was an o-ring in the spool valve. On the left side of the valve you will see a 1" bolt looking cap its down in there. Simple fix. I believe there is more of a break-down of the spool valve towards the back of the parts catalog.

Thanks guys. Yes this is a great starting point. We didn't work today because of snow/ice. Tomorrow we will look at all that you gentleman mentioned as a possible solution. I will let you know what I find out. Again, thanks for the input.
