A couple of years ago I had a comment card example come across my desk. It was utilized after a members round and I can not remember what was on it. It had basic stuff like how were the greens bunkers fairways etc with a number and circle system but it also had service comments as well. Does any body have anything that I could use as an example?

I would greatly appreciate the help,

How did you know that the golf course was being measured and not the quality of the golfers game? I mean really, if some duffer stinks it up, isn't it much more convenient to blame the track rather than take responsibility for a lousy game?

    Regards,

    Steve

I think in most cases you have a valid point Steve and of course it only covers the bad rounds. Every now and then though we get surprised when somebody will submit a comment card after a good round too. Unfortunately the comment cards tend to get known as complaint cards. I have a sample at work that I can scan and send to you. Ours covers course conditions as well as pro shop and food concession topics.

Don't send it to me, man. I've got 1500 members who don't need comment cards to complain on, they are perfectly capable of complaining using every other medium known to humanity.

I meant to say I would scan it and send it to Phil. I guessed that you wouldn't want it. :D

Tom thank you for commenting, if you get a moment I would like to see that.

    Steve,
I have played at some of the nicest courses with the best service around and they do the comment cards as well. You wonder why they are so good is because they take the time to find their faults and improve on them. Try not to take things so negatively and instead build on them to make your product even better. Ritz-Carlton isn't a great hotel that popped out of nowhere, they took the time to see what the customers wanted and gave it to them. That's all I am trying to accomplish. My goal would be to sample quarterly because we do have the same people playing daily and every time we have a guest. I do believe your real data taken from a guest would be highly regarded as good information.

I'm not taking anything negatively, I am just questioning whether you really know what you are sampling.

Should the card include a spot for them to declare their handicap and what they shot that round? A single digit handicapper who shoots 90 probably won't have too many good comments while a 20 handicapper breaking 80 might give rave reviews of the same course on the same day.
