    Could use some help.

The decks on this 4500 will just stop while mowing. Sometimes for just a short moment and other times for quite awhile. They won't shut off for a week and then all of the sudden it starts acting up again. I have changed the hyd. coils, magnetic safety switches,on-off switch for decks and even tried jumping the seat switch.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks, John

When they quit, verify the deck light on the computer. I've had to replace a couple of these (computer) for various ghosts.

I have had it both ways, they shut off and other times they will keep running, both caused by the computer. Easy fix and I believe under $300.

There is also proximity switches on the decks. Have you checked the adjustment of these switches for contact? If those plates they mount near are shifting that would also cause deck problems.

Another issue we had was some small pieces floating around in the hydraulic lines. Came from the reel motors they told me. They would stick in various places causing decks not to run. Wonderful task that was to clean out.

Let us know what you find.

Thanks for the help. I will let you know what I find.

p.s. When you say "computer" you're talking about the control module? Right?

    Thanks Again.

Also check the low/high range switch, yes he would be referring to the control module. I have also had to replace one on a machine recently.
