I have a JD 3235 Fairway unit that I'm having an issue with the hydrostatic drive system. It will not hardly move in forward, and wont pull hills at all. Put it in reverse, and it will darn near give you whiplash with the power. Both wheel motors were just rebuilt, and we just would like to know what direction to try next.

Im no mechanic but bad o-ring in SCV valve maybe? Seems to be bypassing somewhere.

What were the symptoms that led you to rebuild both wheel motors? And when you opened them were they trashed?

Were the hoses that connect those motors (inside the reservoir) replaced at the same time? Those hoses get holes rubbed in them and will create the symptoms you describe.

Another possibility (less likely) is the forward relief valve. It's identical to the reverse relief valve. You can switch them and see if the problem moves to reverse.
