We are currently expanding to an 18 hole course and are looking to add some pieces of equipment. Was wondering if anyone out there has used a truck mounted Vicon spreader to topdress there greens. I have approx. 2.5 a of greens with the new ones having a little more slope then the existing. I have an opportunity to purchase an off lease cushman truckster and the distributor is willing to through in slightly used Vicon for no cost. Anyone ever use??

With the short snout and dry sand, yes, it's possible.

I used one many, many, many years ago during an OJT. Worked well for us, just do as Andy says. If sand isn't that dry, I remember someone having to stand on the fender working sand down with a rake handle.

I used the Cushman/Vicon set up to topdress greens for many years. I thought it did a good job. As Andy said use the short spout for topdressing. I also used mine to fertilize fairways using the longer spout.

We used a vicon with the short metal stinger with dry sand. We have 32 greens and it would take about 3 hrs to hit them all.

Thanks for all the input I think I'm going to demo in spring just so I can physically see it's capabilities.
