I was recently advised to use MSM for my virginia buttonweed and decided to look up to see if it may injure oak trees since my course has many very large Water Oaks and Live Oaks!

Has anyone on here had issues with this chemical? I have found several articles written on it saying they have seen injury in the spring time but not in the summer or fall!

I used it for roughly 3 seasons in the fall for winter broadleaf weed control. I did notice that the live oaks were losing leaves in the winter where we applied. The leaves stayed on once we stopped using it, so I belive this was a problem. These live oaks were roughly 8 - 12 years old, so I do not know how it would affect older ones.

Thanks, I think I will just avoid it for now!

It's not as drastic as you'd think. We spray right under Oaks every single year and have never had one die as a result.
