Anyone out there remember the old hollow core drum aerators? We had a small one off back of a cushman that collected the cores inside the drum and a trap door that opened when unit raised (hydraulically) to dump/empty.
What I'm looking for really is a larger unit of this type pulled behind a tractor for large area (fairway) applications. Does anyone make these currently or might there be one somewhere I can get my hands on?

    Thanks

I remember a brand by the name of Dedoes that made them. Haven't seen one in 25 years. The one I had (Dedoes brand) the tines would break off all the time. Did not work that well. Here is a link to a pic of one.

Thanks Rick. This is what I had in mind. Still like to get one if you, or anyone, ever knows of one around ...

I used to pull some massive wheelies with the 3 wheeled Cushman with that contraption on the back!

I neglected to get a large dinosaur and a drum aerator when I put in my wish list. Dammit.

This might be the puppy you are looking for. I actually own two of them and aerated the fairways with them for years. If you just want to pull thatch plugs with a little dirt they work great

Thanks Larry .. and Paul. Larry, the link you sent me was expired. Do either of you remember the manufacturer, or where I might try and find one of these?

Thanks again for your serious responses guys ... the rest of you hacking on each other? ... if you have nothing intelligent to say, just say nothing at all.

You had one response in four days, then a few guys had a little fun with it. Then three weeks of nothing until you thanked the serious contributors. It couldn't have wasted too much of your time to read the rest of the responses.

Annoying isn't it? Bunch of hacks. They go on and on about nothing. Well, it's something but not the something we high IQ types like to read. I mean, how are we supposed to garner continuing education when we have to sift thru the babbling zombie drool? A similar thing just happened to me today. I was in Office Maxx looking to get fliers made. The clerk went on a tangent about paper shredders and highlighters. I was like, "Hey! Lady, I just want some fliers". But she wouldn't let it go. She just kept on about the damn shredders and highlighters. She was particularly impressed by the blue highlighters. I must say though that the orange ones started to grow on me. Its a soft comforting shade of orange. And fun too. I ended up buying a three pack of the orange highlighters and spent the afternoon highlighting words that begin with the letter "G" in the most recent Golf Course Management. You'll never guess what the most used word that begins with the letter "G" is in Golf Course Management. Go ahead. Take a guess. Go ahead.

And that link that Larry posted. Don't let him fool you. I bet that was his expired pole dancer for hire ad.

If you do a search on Google, it is called a Terra 320. There are several listed in my area but it's likely better if you google your local area.
I am proud, for once, to have been of some assistance. I'm generally one of them hacks

I would like to concur that Mr. Huffstutler CGCS is all business and has no sense of humor, when he says something funny, it is by accident.

    Gerry,
I don't know if you found a drum aerator yet. I do have a Dedoes I'd like to get rid of the only problem is I'm in PA.
If interested I'm in the directory.
