I'm looking for some info on requirements for irrigation work that is performed on golf courses in Oklahoma. When I worked for the City of Bloomington, which was a union operation, we were required to have a union plumber on staff for irrigation repairs. We actually negotiated a deal with the labor union to have one of the parks maintenance guys be designated as our card carrying apprentice. Does anyone know if that would be a requirement for a union based operation in Oklahoma?

    Thank you for your assistance.

Just out of curiosity, can't a Naval Base pretty much write their own rules?

I worked at a course in Oklahoma that was owned by the city but taken over and run by a management company. No requirements and all staff was non-union.

Thank you. I'm working on a bid for a facility in Oklahoma and they have an irrigation tech as one of the positions in the budget. It appears it was a union operation and I was curious about paying prevailing wages. It depends on the contract but pay is usually set by a wage determination rate by position.

Prevailing wage should be covered in the bid specs.
