It's a sad day in the UnKnown household. After 7 years of cruising heaven we have come head-on with the day that we must "put-down" our beloved Pacifica. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we morn the loss of a chick magnet that will live forever in our hearts.

Sounds like an upgrade to a Sebring convertible is in the works.

    Sir,

Why do you morn your pacifica, if you love it make it right and drive it. As an "old car guy" I would tell you my best cars have never been new to me. Currenly my 65 cuda runs, drives, and is in as good condition as any new car. If you love it fix it any car can be restored for modest money unless it is a rare beast. I had much of the work done on my cuda by a high school vocational class who took their time and did great work. If you love it find a way and get something to drive in the meantime, used cars are cheap and plentyful! If I could drive I would be driving the cuda almost daily, unfortunately right now my seizure issues keep me from driving, but soon I will be able to drive it again and I live for that day! Another sidebar the older they are the less distractions they present to drive no videos, gps ect just simple and fun! I did what I could and farmed out the big stuff. I never need a computer to tune my car up just some new plugs and a small screwdriver to adjust my holley carb, then smoke the tires all the way down the street.....LOL

    Gregg..........Mopar or No Car!

No, no............tell me it ain't so Clay............at least Mrs Unknown will feel some comfort that her significant other is no longer trolling in the "chick magnet"

A slightly used Hummer? Got one left.

I think you could still find a nice Le Baron if you look a little.

I didn't think of the Le Baron option. That jumps to the top of the list along with the Chrysler K car.

Yep, I'm afraid it is so. I'm a mess without my baby. I drained the oil into a coffee can and have it sitting on the living room mantle next to the Farrah Fawcett poster.

The Hummer and the convertible Sebring are way too high-brow for us.

    Clay,

If I could get there we would be rebuilding the motor over the weekend its not that difficult. I bleed when a fellow mopar lover lets one die....You live in the heart of mopar country plenty of help there to get her going again? must be still cheaper than a new car? What exactly is the problem? Let us put our heads together (although mine might only be worth less than one) and make a rescue plan. You could buy a replacement motor new or rebuit, trans also? come on do not give up George Washington did not, Patton did not, I have not.....Its the American way...Go for the gusto and never say I give up!

    Gregg (sounds good anyway)

Thanks for your concern Gregg but the "ol' gray mare" is gone. She drove off into the sunset. Well not really, the driver went east on the Indiana Pike late in the day. But you know what I mean. I have a few momentos to stem the depression; the oil, an old pine tree air freshener, a few stiff/slightly moldy french fries that I found under the rear seat, and the original window sticker. I think I'll have that framed.

The only way I'm getting a mini-van is if it has shag carpet on the walls.

    I think that's a little extreme for a Pacifica.

We are high rolling in a Subaru Tribeca. Nice car. Excellent acceleration for a crossover vehicle. Doesn't have the cruising comfort of the Pacifica but does have a lot of nice features.

    Clay,

Isnt a Subaru (Urabus) kinda unAmerican for a good ole Mid Western Mopar Guy? Seems to be a big change of heart overnight......

Good ole Mid Western Guy, I am. Mopar Guy, well the Pacifica is the only Chrysler I have ever owned. I buy most of my cars sight-unseen and I never buy new. My brother works for a dealer in Ohio and I call him, tell him the features we need, and he calls when something worthwhile rolls into his lot. The Tribeca came in at 1 year old with 19,000 miles. My brother sent me pics and the specs and I bought it over the phone. We then meet halfway on the toll road and exchange vehicles. Did the exact same thing when I bought the Pacifica.

I usually buy American made but this is the 3rd foreign car I have owned over the year; Volkswagen Rabbit back in the early 80's, Nissan Maxima in the early 90's and now the Whoop De Doo for my Subaru.

I'm sure Mrs Unknown is a little more comfortable seeing you drive off in the Subaru vs. the "chick magnet". The young chickies only think of you as a concerned invironmentalist when they see you go by in the Tribeca.

I think the Tribeca is a solid performer.

I am begging all of you for help. I am starting to eyeball a low mileage Astin Martin. Even if I was single, the type of women it would attract would be beyond my pay scale! Please, quickly talk some sense into me before it is too late. Since the world is supposed to end in Dec. 2012, I could actually take my IRA and 401K money and have some left over for gas money. Talk common sense to me guys, quickly before it is too late!
