Recently while discussing some products the comment was made about using acibenzolar-S-methyl (ASM), that if "stacked" applications were made, (back to back) the ASM worked even better.

I normally use Daconil Action in the spring a couple of times usually 28 or so days apart, as I will slip in an Emerald application in there to help with dollar spot control. I envisioned maybe using a Heritage Action application in between my Daconil Action applications, for a fairy ring preventative. I normally use Torque, since it is fairly inexpensive and will help a little on dollar spot control

Anyone using a similar strategy? Spacing of ASM?

    Thanks!

No. Bayleton when soil temps. reach 50 degrees followed by a light water cycle works really well. You get fairy ring, summer patch, dollar spot, growth regulation and happy golfers. Second app. goes down 3 weeks later. Two apps. last 6 weeks. Cheap when you look at it this way. Good luck.

We have done Torque in a similar fashion since Dr. Miller has been at Mizzou, I find it fairly inexpensive compared to other programs. I am already using Primo for growth regulation, we will make the first Torque application when soil temps are about 55, water in lightly, then 2 weeks later make a Revolution application, after another 2 weeks we make our second Torque applications, then another 2 weeks another Revolution application, then Revolution on 28 day schedule. It as worked will for us, but was just wondering if the ASM would provide better healthier more drought resistant turf?

For what its worth -- and I think you are saying the same thing -- I wouldn't base my program on Acibenzolar making my turf more drought tolerant. The ancillary benefits seen with using those products would be a plus, not the deciding factor when developing a program...just like I don't spray Insignia for the plant health benefits, those are just a bonus in my book. The research does tend to indicate a benefit from multiple applications of ASM. I don't think they've nailed down the timing and most likely it will vary from course to course and depend on the type and degree of stresses on the plants. Certainly, a case can be made for the program you describe.
