Does anyone have a good way to get 419 bermuda out of bentgrass greens. What do you use, rates and timing. We are in Georgia where the bent is struggling in the hot humid summers and the bermuda is thriving.

We spray Pylex (BASF) at .25 oz/Acre in Central Alabama on Crenshaw. Start in early September and spray monthly until dormancy, then pick back up in the spring until May. Be careful to properly calibrate and apply. It can ding the bentgrass for a few days if not. Be prepared for the Bermuda to turn bleach white for a while. It works great on goosegrass too if you have any.

We've probably reduced the Bermuda population by 40% in 2 seasons. It doesn't seem to work on encroachment as well as areas inside of the greens, but it helps slow it down. Good luck!

Chad you spray it with anything else? I'm assuming you use a backpack to cut in your edges? encroachment is a big issue for us.

    David,
No, we don't. We don't even add the MSO as the label suggests. We spray everything with a backpack sprayer, including encroachment. If you can aggressively edge the perimeters, then spray, it seems to work a little better. Pylex, if properly applied, works great for contamination, not so great for encroachment, but definitely slows the Bermuda down.
