Not sure how I feel about this except it goes against everything in recreational business that I have learned. My Name is Keith and that's is what I liked to be called Keith and not Mr. Pegg, I have always called my employees by their given name and have found it to be a good policy and makes a good or even great work environment.
    A memo received yesterday:
Effective Immediately-All supervisors must be called by Mr./Ms. XXXXX,
example when you talk to your supervisor in front of others use "Mr. XXXXX",
when your employees talk to you in front of others they should address you
as Mr. XXXX or Ms. XXXX.
This came from way up the power triangle and from my office an office that really has no recreational background.
I am just venting a bit, as I am unable to correct this or change this however it does feel good to see the words on paper.

    Keith

Some Flag officer has his skivvies in a knot, for sure. I was in the service for a long time and that's how these things happen. What we (senior noncoms) always did was salute, say "Yes, Sir" and then ignore the ignorant blowhard.

    Regards,

    Steve

    Hi Keith,

I have been called Mr. Don in a few countries that I have worked, and have always correct my staff and said my name is Don. I agree first names make for a good work environment. Hang in there, maybe it will blow over.

    Regards,

I prefer "Your Highness" or "Your Excellency". Either is acceptable. A genuflect and eye diversion is also required.

That's why the call you "The Prince of the Property", right?

I would call my employees Mr./Ms. whatever too then. My name is Scott. I didn't go into the golf business to be called Mr. Wahlin. The bosses are dicks sometimes and that is just the way it is. I called the bosses Mr. so-n-so unless they told me not to.

When I was in high school the school made a deal with the fancy private club nearby to play our matches there. When we were there we used to call each other by our middle names. They were all stupid names. Mine was Bradford and my playing partner was Thornton. Maybe you could do something like that! ;)

Do you ever get to work and realize that you left your scepter and orb at home?

I hate when that happens. You have to call the wife and ask her to bring you the necessary accoutrements of office on her way to work.

My wife is in charge in our household, she isn't bringing anything by work for me. Although she did think about dropping the dog off for me one day. I was too busy spraying or something or would have loved to have puppy, she isn't quite trained yet to kind of be on her own.

Would love to have the puppy at work, but she is not trained.

My wife would be trying to train me, and she certainly can be on her own.
