Anybody use these and do you find them acceptable? (I am looking at the one from Par Aide)

I have always avoided them since I figure a green isn't typically flat, and if cutting one on a slope would actually leave the flag leaning a little (of course with typical greens speeds now, who cuts on a slope). But I know we have really flat greens and I want to see straighter flag sticks, I wonder if this would fit the bill for my crew.

    Thanks!

    Mel,
We put these on our cup cutters about 7 years ago and they really seemed to help...when the right person would use it. The downfall is that many times the cup cutter gets thrown in the back of the cart and slides from bedside to bedside on its way to the next green. I have had to re-adjust a few of the levels to get them square again. They are nice especially when training new people.

    Have a good one.

That's the excuse I use all the time after I change them.

Mel, We have used them for at least 10 years with great success. I have found that checking at beginning, 1/3 and 2/3 down really helps to stay straight, especially on a firm green with lots of wobbling while cutting. Thanks Paul and Pete,

I know in the past I have always had issues when I would cut them, they would lean away from me, since I was pushing out when pushing down. I think from not being tall enough, (and probably got worse as my belly got bigger and in the way). So I now concentrate on keeping the cup cutter pulled in closer to me...(I think I will try to use my belly as a guide this year).

    Thanks again!

I Created a level add on for cupcutters some 15+ years ago and sold a few at the GCSAA shows. a year later both cupcutter mfgs then came out with a level built in.

If you stop by Booth 3279 I will give anyone that wants a level to attach one. I think I have a few hundred left!

You should have some kind of code word in order to get one......like......"Copycat?" lol.

    Ok Keith,

The code word for anyone wanting one is "CopyCat. Good for free levels until I run out.

BTW The "gadget" was named "Cut it Straight" debuted at the same time as my Wetting Fork for hot spots.
