Ive put a request in for bentgrass seed over a week ago and I cant get an answer. Not for sure what to do with no seed. I think im going to order it without getting permission unless someone can tell me how to turn bare spots into grass without seed.

    Maybe artificial turf... LOL

Do you have a sod cutter? Can you take sod from inconspicuous areas for your current needs then seed when you get "permission". Or, do you have anything worth trading? Can you make a deal with a local course that has seed?

LOL welcome to my world! It is amazing that I can go to a board meeting and tell them I need such and such and never get a yes or no! The next day I have to call my greens chairman or club president to again ask and remind him that no one said do it or not. Happens almost every time I ask.

As hard as it is, you have to do your owner's bidding. If the owner says no seed then not seed. It's his/her money, right? Maintain impeccable documentation regarding your recommendations and his/her response. You'll probably need it down the road.

I would have to agree with Clay. Its the owners course. If he doesn't want to spend the money on seed, it's his/her call. It's their course, they decisions. Same thing for a member owned course. We can only give them opinions/directions. It's their call at the end of the day.
Also, I probably wouldn't voice my thoughts on "firing" as openly, either. That could be strike 2 and in many cases, a job is better than no job, imo

Sometimes, no job is better than a horrible job. I took a job like that one time, I shoulda known better, but I was anxious and I saw it as a career move forward..... What a mistake. I'm not sure if I quit or got fired, it depends on who you talk to. I hated being unemployed and I wasn't for long, but it was a huge relief to be away from those idiots.

    Good luck man.

    Steve
