Im trying to raise ph in my bent/poa fairways in the upper northeast. calcium is the most depleted nutrient. Has anyone used the solu-cal product? Results? If so would you prefer solo-cal over dolomitic lime? Just looking for some feedback.
    Thanks.

It depends on your Mg levels. If Mg is adequate there is no need for dolomitic lime. Check the price difference between calcitic lime and SoluCal. SoluCal is a fine product, finely ground lime making it fast acting plus acid additives that enhance activity but you are paying for that. We always used dolomite figuring what the heck, Mg is good, but high levels really interfer with Ca base saturation. You can probably find a high cal lime in your area much cheaper than SoluCal. solu-cal is equal to 4 bags of lime so keep that in mind when pricing your options

Please explain...is there more calcium in the solu-cal or are you saying it is more quickly released because of the acid additives? Not sure that equates to being 4 times more effective...perhaps only in the short term.

When yall say "lime" are you comparing to gypsum or a hi-cal lime?
