Does anyone know how to prevent these wasps from burrowing into cups and on greens. They just showed up in the past few days in more than usual numbers. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Don't have this problem now, but would carry a ketchup or mustard squirt bottle filled with Sevin dust. A light dusting in the hole and they won't come back.

Probably should remove the ketchup or mustard label first.

    One pack, two bottles.

We had success with a water-based pyrethroid aerosol in VA, I think it was called Dead Sure 2. Do the same thing - spray a little in each hole, problem solved. Our mechanic even ordered some WD40-style spray nozzles (with the straw) that proved helpful.

We deal with these all of the time in Northern Virginia. We use tempo dust from BASF sprayed into the holes of the wasp before sunup while they are still in there

Those dusts work well. Give your irrigation controllers a shot too for earwigs, ants, etc. Got written up once by the MD Dept. of Ag for the ketchup bottles. "Illegal Service Container" or something like that. Kenneth Ingram, UMD
