What all have you been using for pre-emergent on you zoysia?
I remember in a previous thread on sprigging zoysia it was mentioned that Barricade and other pre-emergents could be a little tough compared to Ronstar and was re-evaluating my program.
I have zoysia collars next to bent in the transition zone that have struggled and wonder if the Barricade is part of the problem? We make two split apps in the late winter and early spring. I have a feeling traffic is a huge issue, with triplexs and pull carts and golfers in concentrated areas, (we have spots with little traffic and zoysia looks fine) we don't really aerify it and probably some other issues as well, such as fertilizing the bent at the proper time, and what falls on the zoysia isn't helpful, the primo/fert/fungicide sprays maybe as well? We also get a lot of common bermuda encrochment, and I wonder about water, since we try to hand water greens a lot and when we run the over heads, it's concentrated on the greens, not the collars.
Any thoughts would be appriciated.
I am thinking of two Ronstart apps in late winter/early spring, then follow up with a split app of Dimension that we use on our greens with great success for the summer, and then I need to find a early fall product for poa. Of course I need to check on seasonal rates.
Thanks!
