Let me tell you about health care in France.
I had a mysterious pain in my left thigh. To find the cause and cure, ove the past four months I have had six consultations with various doctors and specialists, a Doppler echocardiography, an MRI, x-rays, and prescriptions for anti-inflammatories. For all this I'm out of pocket less than $100. All prescriptions are covered 100%. (Turns out I've got a little arthritis.)
My wife gave birth to our two children in France. Both times a private room and excellent care for three days cost me about $75 only because we paid for a satellite TV and telephone in the room.
The deductions for medical insurance for my family and myself are less than 5% of gross salary. Every legal resident in the country is covered. The doctors are as competent as anywhere and there are no long waits for treatment.
France may be a socialist country, but it's not all bad. I'm sure the U.S. could learn something from the French about health care.
