I am researching the use of electric equipment on our golf course and wanted to get some feedback from anyone who is currently using electric and electric hybrid equipment to maintain their courses. I am looking at walking greensmowers, greens rollers, triplexes, utility vehicles, bunker rakes, and maybe even a greens sprayer. Any thoughts or comments on the pros and/or cons of using this technology would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

I love my JD electic utility cart, quiet and runs well gets me where I have to be around course no issues at all. Carries good amount of materials, soils, debris, ect weight amount no problem. I get around golfers quickly and quietly and love the ride! My only wish is to have the dump be electric also, mine is manual, but I am sure this is possible. As the assistant it allowes me ability to get where I have to be, do what I need to do and not bother golfers at all!!! We use their GM's but not electric if they are like my cart I am sure you would be happy with them also...

    Paul,
I had a horrible experience with the JD 220 E-cut walk greens mowers. We fought with them for a year and then got rid of them. My mechanic was taking 2-3 hours to check the mowers in every day compared to 30 minutes with flexes. We had two of the generators go out in a year and the chains make it so the deck can dig into the green. We had every tech. we could find come to the course and they still were junk. Stay away from the JD e-cuts.
