I inherited 5 Flex 21s at the course that I am now with. We've been mowing greens with 4 of them (the 5th is down with engine issues). We just couldn't get a consistent cut out of them. Found out today, that 2 of them have 14 bladed reels, and 2 have 11 bladed reels.

Any thoughts on how I can get all 4 consistent (other than than the obvious...replacing 2 reels)? Can I play with height of cut, perhaps?

What cutting unit does mower 5 have?

I think I would work that one into the mix, and sideline an 11, probably the smallest diameter unit. I would then install a "Clip Kit", which would speed up the reel speed on the remaining 11 blade unit, getting closer to the FOC of the 14 blade units. This is a painless install... 1 pulley. If still not satisfied, you could install "Clip Kits" on the 14 blade reels as well, but reverse them, thereby slowing the reel some, closing that gap on the FOC even more.

    Thanks, Greg.
