Chargers Decision?

Well, in my opinion, the Chargers just doomed themselves to mediocrity for next year and perhaps a few more. Norv Turner and A.J. Smith are coming back next year. Spanos has determined that they are the best coach and gm combo to bring us to the promised land. I wonder what that will do to season tickets. Maybe we can talk Andrew Luck into playing one more year for Stanford since the Chargers will probably be drafting first in next years draft! The team needs a major upgrade in offensive and defensive line (neither are tough) and help at linebacker and corners. Gates has not come close to playing a full season for several years and our big receivers both tend to be injury prone. Where do you start to build a legitimate contender with that many holes to fill?

    Sandy,

We will trade the Rams for the Chargers. At least we are cleaning house but 10-38 for 3 years is pretty bad and we won 7 last year. Of course, if things keep going bad, Kroenke will move the team back to LA with a new stadium and the #2 TV market empty and looking for a tenant. Of course we keep hearing the Chargers might move up the road.

We are just an average football town, when things are good we fill the place but when things are average or worse, we stay away in droves.

    Joe,

I think there was bigger attendance for the BOA Super Regional band contest then Sunday's Ram's game.

Thanks Sandy, with Tebow in Denver and Norv still in San Diego, the Chiefs with a real head coach only has to beat Oakland to win the west and get back into the play-offs.

Sorry bout your luck Sandy but you're SCREWED. The only thing the Chargers will win with Turner at the drivers seat is a quick trip home after the regular season. Turner has the uncanny knack of reducing a potentially great team to mediocrity. He leaves a trail of scorched football earth everywhere he goes.

There is hope though. You CAN have a winner to cheer for. AND, you will not be lead down the deceitful road of empty football promises. Wave the Terrible Towel my friend. Join Steeler Nation. It will set you free from your life of Charger misery.

Hey Sandy I thought for sure they would pull the trigger on both Turner and Smith. Guess the millionaire knows more than us. Forget that Steeler nation nonsense from Clay...........he has the colors right, just the wrong team. The Saints are going after #2!

BOO! Chargers are mediocre and soft. I am hoping the Rams come back home to LA so I can drop my adopted team and at least root for a mediocre team I grew up loving.

I have to go with David's invitation for a new team. Since Brees and the mighty mite are former Chargers and performing as the stars they always were, I do have kind of an automatic connection. Detroit could pull an upset but I think the Saints are now the team to beat. I don't see any defense stopping them the way they are playing now. The best game of the year will be the NFC playoff game and the Super Bowl will be anti-climatic. None of the real contenders seem to have consistent defenses, including the Ravens. When you look at offense and defense combined and throw out home team allegiance, it looks like the Saints have the definite advantage. I don't think the 49er's have enough offense to go all the way and I am not sure about the Raven's either. Green Bay and the Patriots are both lacking in defense. Maybe Norv and AJ can carefully watch the playoff's and learn something new!

Yeah, it does look as thought the NFC has the upper hand this year. The Steelers are banged and bruised. The Pats offense has slid to so-so and their defense stinks. The Ravens are way too inconsistent. If I were a betting man - like David - I would take the 'aints to win the big game.
