We've been having some issues with our 12 volt batteries in the IQ cart 2006. We have some 8 volt batteries in 2002 IQ carts and not only do the batteries hold up better but the carts from 2002 are much faster than the 2006 models. I heard that Club Car was going back to 8 volt batteries because of a variety of problems with the 12 volt carts. (both are 48 volts with (4) 12 volt or (6) 8 volt batteries. We have replaced the original Trojan batteries with US batteries. In tests the US batteries have been as good or better with a cheaper price tag. EZ go carts seem to have no problems when they went to 12 volt batteries and switched to US batteries). Anyone having similar issues with Club Car or US batteries? Our course is not flat but also not extreme in elevation changes.

    David,
We have the 12 volt US batteries and am not happy with them The original batter with Club C were very good. The US batteries if you get just a little too much water in them the boil over every night and we have in two years use two set of cables. We have to do water two or three times a week to just cover cells and no more. We have complained to blank stare and were told it is our problem and not CC problem. Club car supplied the US batteries as part of the deal after three years and after 5 years we will trade in 102 cars.

We had a fleet of 60 CC carts with the 12 volt batteries. New in 2006. In 2010 we had 19 carts that did not need all 4 batteries replaced. We worked with our CC rep to replace the entire fleet with the new 2010 precedents with the 6 8volt batteries.

Club Car knows there is a problem with the 4 12's and if you push long enough you will get someone in the company to admit this. That is what it took here, get it in a voicemail or in an email and they will cut you a really great deal. Our dealer was great to work with on this issue. If you are not looking to replace them now, I would recommend ordering batteries by the truck load and getting a good price on them.
