Anyone else see this from yesterday? I didn't watch the tournament myself, just the let down after the open, but I saw it on-line this morning.

Just wonder what others thought of it, seems the first shot went in the water and he complained to his caddy "that club went into the water", and then from the drop he hit I thought about or a little past the pin and it went over and then he asked his caddy if that was the correct yardage from the drop area.

Doesn't he have the same yardage book? And he has to rely on his caddy for the correct club on his first one? Or did he miss hit it? I would say if I wasn't confident about the club my caddy talked me into, I wouldn't hit it, because I would change my shot or swing, (not that it probably matters with me and my game) to compensate for not having the confidence that it was the correct club.

    Mel,

I was watching and it seemed more than a bit tense after those two shots. You could hear some of the things Bubba was saying but I couldn't hear or see anything the caddy said. Even one of the announcers made some comment to the effect "you hit the shot" after one of the comments. At one point Bubba actually picked up the bag off the ground to grab a club or put one back. In the back of my mind I was thinking he might be going to carry it himself for the last few holes. After the round was over it all seemed to be not that big of a deal.

Great shots by a lot of players those last few holes. I was glad to see the old guy (Ken Duke at 44 years old) hit a great shot during the playoff to get his first ever tour win.

Bubba has a reputation for being a head case and difficult to work with. I don't know if this is the same caddy but a couple of years ago, Bubba's caddy, who was a close friend of his, quit and told him him wouldn't work with him until he got his emotions under control. I guess Bubba had improved somewhat but it seems like the same personality quirk may be resurfacing. Bubba will never be a consistent winner until he learns to control his emotions. He is obviously loaded with talent but less talented players with better heads will win more frequently.

I had to laugh watching the last playoff hole. Ken Duke looked like he physically couldn't have played another playoff hole. His body language looked to be of someone totally exhausted. He hits that great approach and suddenly it was all over. Congratulations to the guy for winning his first tournament at 44!

Sandy: according to this story from the Golf channel it is the same caddy. David Feherty was the announcer that made the comment you hit the shot Bub.
