    Hi all,

Are there any good training aides, videos, books that explain the importance of the bedknife positioning, such as angles and square set of the cutting unit?

My seasonal mechanic was asking today.

I have looked at Hector's shop and while he has a great video of the daily set-up of a Jacobsen walking mower and the importance of front facing, and daily check, no matter what the brand, (which I hope my guy watches). I haven't found anything else yet.

I tried to explain it somewhat, but when I'm only somewhat knowledgeable (and that is giving me too much credit) I don't think I explain it correctly.

    Thanks!

Check out the info on the IGCEMA website. There are some great webcasts available.

Service manuals usually have a great source of info on grinding angles and proper set up for your cutting unit.
Always start out with OEM specs.

    Hey Mel,

Hope all is well. The IGCEMA will be presenting a seminar at the GIS this year if you're going. It will be maybe an hour to hour an a half long class. It will cover a lot of cool ways to set up cutting units, some cool tricks, and a few of our ideas and reasons on why we do things certain ways.

    Hope to see you there,
