Hello: Just took over a course in Northern Idaho. Wall-to-Wall, continuous cart paths made out of black top asphalt. There are many trees here where the roots are bulging up through and breaking the cart paths and also fielding complaints that the carts are like riding over hundreds of speed bumps.

Has anyone out there come up with a cost-effective solution to this problem that doesn't involve ripping up the paths and removing the roots and then laying down new paths??

We have some problems like that, what we have done is cut out the asphalt, chopped out the roots, and then laid a "dirty base" mixture of fine stone particles. Our goal is to come back to that area, and scoop enough material out and then pour concrete in it. It's a little too big of an area for us to use something like asphalt patch. We haven't come back with the concrete yet, we have had no complaints with the dirty base repair.
