We have trouble aligning the grain with the old style cup cutter from par aid due to the turning required when cutting a cup. The plug seems to twist inside the cutter changing the alignment of the grain. This forces us to eject and rotate the plug in order to align. My question is, would the HIO cup cutter eliminate this issue being that there is no twisting involved when cutting the cup?

We switched to it at Pine Tree shortly before I left and we liked it. We will utilize them at my new post this fall. I think it offered a cleaner edge, less pulling and "volcanoing."

Agree with Tony. We get a much cleaner edge and "volcano" comments are a thing of the past. Been using them for years
