Our head pro is putting a set of tee markers in the fairways. I have seen the Kirby markers and wanted to know if there are any others out there. The won't have the yardage on them. They just need to be green. Has anyone made their own? Thanks, Ben

We are looking at making our own concrete yardage markers to install our USKids plates in. We also use 12x12 patio blocks for our 100, 150 yardage plates. I wonder if you could use something like that and just paint?

What are the new tees being used for?

Randini, just jumping in, we added a couple of years ago family tee markers that shorten up our holes for example, on our Par 5 first hole we installed a marker at 322 yards and a marker at 173. Through US Kids we have two courses set up, and it could be rated as I understand.

One course is recommended at 2,200 yards with par 3's between 45-85 yards, par 4's at 85-135 yards and par 5's at 135 to 195 yards.

The other course is recommended at about 3,800 yards with par 3's at 74-115 yards, par 4's at 185-245 yards and par 5's at 285-345 yards.

Our golf pro will use the markers while doing youth leagues and lessons, while during our jr. tournament, he will use them on a 6 hole loop for the 9 and under crowd.

We have used them just to go out and hit irons for fun.

I do now have golf course architect on my resume now, since I layed out the tee markers......

The markers are going to be used for some of the senior members in the club. We just put normal tee markers in the fairway now. We want to use something the fairway mowers can mow over.
