We have three club car carry alls. One is a turf 272, but all from 2003. On my 272 especially, the starter belt always slips no matter how much you tighten it. This is happening on the carryalls too. I've tried new belts a number of times and we have even replaced the starter motor wheel. Belt dressing doesn't do anything either. I suspect this happens to a lot of people as all three of our vehicles are doing this. It isn't the biggest deal in the world, but when you have a manual irrigation system this is a real pain.

I'm running carry-all II, and the 272 and do not have any trouble with the belts slipping. Use a pry bar and make sure they are really tight. Are you using OEM belts or after market? May try a cog type belt. You can cross them over at your NAPA store.

We do in fact use a pry bar and the oem belts.

Has your dealer made any suggestions? My first response is about all I have to offer you, sorry if it's not much help. Some like to have some deflection in the belt, but I make sure ours are very tight. A cog belt may get you a little more grab. Please post your cure, as there may be others with this same issue. It's a first for me, but that doesn't mean it won't happen here as well.

    Good luck,

We had a problem when we sent a starter in for rebuilding it would come back with the wrong width pulley and then the belt would slip. The repair shop said they pulleys were damaged when they took them off so they replaced them. We made sure they understood the size pulley could not change and had no more problems.

The age of the cart shouldnt matter. If the belt is tight and the prober size of the pulleys could be worn or the wrong size.

The replacement pulley I put on came from the club car dealer. So I don't think that is the problem.
