Curious if anyone has a cell phone tower located near your maint. facitlity on the golf course grounds. Besides the obvious concerns (neighbors, irrigation radio comm.etc), looking for ideas/concerns that I may be missing. Any help with this is appreciated -Thanks

The corner pole of our driving range, which is about 50 feet from our shop, has an AT&T cell tower housed inside it with most of the electonic equipment located at the base in a fenced in area. They have a separate electric meter next to ours and actually run some of the power through conduit in our shop roof. They pay us a fee every month but I can't remember how much. A couple times a year they bring in a crane to work on the top of the tower so they need adequate access for that. They require 24hr access to the site and have a key to our maintenance yard. Usually there's someone out here with a small truck working on the site a couple of times a month. They don't really bother us and I haven't noticed any interference with any of our electronics or radios.

    Ryan,

We had one that was located near the pro shop. It was next to our 9th hole at Spencer T. They had their own access road, no issues with irrigation radios etc. Only problem it was part of the city operation so we did not get the revenue. You should have no issues except a tall tower near your facility. As mentioned, they do require 24 hour 365 day access which is understandable. Usually get a large version of old glory flying which is a nice trade off.

One on Top of our old Water tower at golf course utilized by several cell phone companies no issues what so ever. Extra money for the club!
