I'm curious to hear if anyone out there strips the paint off their cups and repaints them in the winter. If so, what methods are you using to keep the paint on the side walls of the cup and stop it from getting on the bottom of the cups?

My aluminum cups, I just periodically send them to a powder coater and he redoes them. Cost me less than a new cup, but they look fabulous when theya re done. We also sent him all of our par aide ball washers a few years back and for the cost of about 3 new ballwashers, every ballwasher came back looking brand new

We have the ever-white cups with the liners, and I use a sandblaster to remove all paint. It leaves a dull grey color on the bottom and I replace the liners a couple times a year. They look brand new.

We sand blast our alum cups every winter. I bought painting discs through Par Aid which fit across the inner bottom of the cup. Rustoleum primer/paint works fine, although not as durable as powder coating. I have accumulated 3-4 sets of cups that get rotated through the tournament when we paint lips. For normal play we utilize the cups with the the replaceable liners.

We use a sanding wheel that attaches to the drill. We then prime the inside with rust-oleum and then paint them. You can use the Par Aid discs to put inside them or just basic 16oz drinking cup lids works just as well.

I use a cylinder hone on a drill to remove old paint and then repaint with spray on appliance epoxy from Home Depot.
