I am trying to repair a 4'' smooth inner wall and corrugated outer wall drain pipe that goes under a cart path. Just before it reaches the path there was a gash in the pipe that was causing a slow leak. I do not have any similar replacement pipe other than regular 4'' solid single wall corrugated drain pipe. So my solution was to put a 6'' pvc pipe sleeve over the 4'' single wall section to protect it. My issue is that it is still leaking from the couplings on either end where the smooth double wall meets the corrugated single wall. I have tried duct taping both ends over and around the couplings but it is just leaking out from underneath the duct tape.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

I hope this makes sense, and I don't sound too stupid in the process.

While trying to solve a scenario of a similar fashion, I took a inside diameter coupling for 4" drain tile (the kind that have the three tabs that snap into the corragation of the tile) and had some success.

We were looking to use rigid pipe under paths and found that when we cut the tabs out of the way, this slips right inside the wall of 4" pvc. A little silicone to lube and seal it all and it worked really well. Then wrapped the joint with some decent duct tape and it worked well for us.

    Best of luck.

You could try taking a can of spray foam and spraying it around the pipe. I use a lot of spray foam for seal the area where pipe enters the side of homemade catch basins made by standing a 12" or larger pipe upright.

Encasing the joint in concrete would probably also seal it.
