Attached is a picture of what is a massive pile of dead beetles located in the collar next to the green. We noticed these beetles for the first time last year in a fairway on a different hole. Now they are on every green and collar, hundreds per green. They burrow down into the thatch and cause a disruption to the surface. I have sent some off to the county extension to get them identified. In the meantime I have sprayed with carbaryl and chloropyrifos on several occasions. Some have died but more seem to keep appearing. This showed up the last time we sprayed. We have been seeing them since February, but now the numbers seem to be getting greater. Has anyone encountered something similar. We are in SW Ga with TifDwarf greens, and 419 everywhere else.
