    1. Lf1880: centre and rear mowing units lower automatically while transporting. We have to continue to raise every ten seconds or so to get where we want to now.

    2. Cushman with turfco broadcast top dresser: hydro pump belt (or something in that area) squeals only when full load in topdresser and conveyor is used. Belt has automatic tensioner and seems in decent shape.

Anyone with experience in these areas?

    Thanks
    Chris

On the 1880 remove the lines and plug them on the center cylinder and raise units see if they drop, if so re-hook and proceed to the rear units until you find the one where they stay up. In most cases it's a bad seal within one of the lift cylinders. The front wings and the center and two rears are on two separate circuits.

On the topdresser looking at your drive roller and make sure its spinning and then look at the conveyor belt and see how fast its moving. It may need adjusting. Also the pump belt may need replacing even though it has an auto-tensioner, it will wear and stretch on you needing to be replaced.

Those are the areas where I would start first, and are the most common and easiest to check.

Thanks. A Jac service rep suggested the same thing re the lift cylinders. I went through them until I found the culprit in the right rear.

I ordered a new belt for the cushman and I'll check adjustments on the conveyor. I'll let you know how that goes.

    Thanks again.

    Chris

I have the same problem on an 1880 where the right front unit sinks. I replaced the lift cylinder and no help. I figured it was one of the hoses.

A check valve on the lift cylinder block could also be the cause. There are three check valves: one controlling the front left cylinder, one for the center and rear cylinders, and one for the front right cylinder. I believe the lowest check valve is the one for the front right lift cylinder. Swapping two of them can confirm that it is the cause of the sinking. Hope this is helpful.
