We have 1987 Cusham Truckster that has us pulling our hair out. Runs like the day we bought her when it is cool out, but after she warms up your walking for sure. Seems like it just loses spark and that is it. I can here fuel pump run and it turns over. Go back in thirty minutes and she's fine. Any suggestions?

I have had coils do that when they start to go bad.

Going back that far it probably has points and condenser, so I'd toss a new set in there just like you were doing a tune up, very inexpensive. I would also agree with the coils. Generally when it dies out like that and your getting fuel it's an ignition problem.

Check for a bent valve stem. Once had this happened and it was just like that, stop when hot cool off and the valve would close and off and going again.

I presume it is the 222 engine. I rebuilt a number of those. I always found the work peaceful and rewarding. What a great engine.
