I have several large areas that I am converting to fine fescues, wildflowers, etc. I need to spray these areas with round up. I was thinking of using my sprayer to do this. However, I am nervous about using my main sprayer to apply round up. Has anybody done this and had success cleaning it after use? Anything special you did?

Just wash out sprayer with water and some spray tank cleaner when you are done and you will be fine. If you are still a little nervous after cleaning out the sprayer, spray the first tank after cleaning on something other than greens.

Triple rinse and go. Just don't forget to flush the booms or gun hose.

I had a talk with an inspector some time back so in front of him I sat down and did the math on how much was left in the tank and what to do with the rinse. We spray it out in the roughs on the course yes even roundup and have never had a problem. After we talked for a time he agreed that this was the best way to clean the tank. Much better than letting it go down the drain.

We have one sprayer that we use for everything. Agree with everyone else. Rinse out, fill up, tank cleaner. We have never had one issue.

    Jeremy and all,

When spraying Roundup, check your spray water pH. A tip from networking with the Brookside consultants over the years...Roundup is going to work best when the spray water pH is 3.5!! You'll see much better results at the recommended rate of application.
