Could you use a deep cycle marine 12 volt battery for a 12 volt golf cart battery? I have to replace 4 and they are very expensive through Interstate. Thanks for any help.

Without getting too technical the simple answer is yes if you want to replace the batteries again in less than a year. Cart batteries contain more lead(Antimony plating) which increase strength and life of the true deep cycle cart battery. If you look at the 75 amp hour rating of marine battery versus true cart batteries there is a huge difference. Spend the extra money and replace with Trojan,Crown,Interstate or Exide. Don't replace only the bad battery but the entire set. Putting older batteries with new ones does not work.Marine batteries are made for boats not golf carts

Thanks Mark. That is what I was thinking. Had a little disagreement with my technician on the subject. Thanks for your help.

In fact, those of us running trolling motors on our boats would rather use a golf cart battery but the size and weight are negative factors.
