Not sure why but a thought went through my head last night that I couldn't figure out. There may be no answer or maybe no answer that means anything practical.

How would you go about figuring out what 1 gallon per thousand equals in the equivalent of rainfall inches. I know it is small and likely in the range of 1/1000 or much less

Does anyone know of a formula that could figure that out? I have no reason for asking other than interest

Well, 1" of rain is 27,154 gallons per acre, divided by 43.56 is 623.37 gallons per 1000 sq.ft. So 1 gallon is .0016041 inches of rain. I think. Just check the bedliner in your truck like the rest of us Larry. Kenneth Ingram, UMD

Reminds me of a study Steve McDonald did here a few years ago. Dollar Spot Control - Effect of dew on fungicide efficacy. He found there could be up to 7 gals/M of water in a heavy dew and the average dew was around 3 gals/M. Really shows how little water 1 gal/M actually totals. Ken

    Thanks Ken,
The dew question was one I posed several years back regarding rather spraying fungicide on dew would alter, and by how much, the rate of actual water applied. No one had an answer.
You are even way smarter than Andy
From here on in you are on my direct mailing list for what I think are stupid questions.
I'm removing Jeff Wallace from my list. He just answers my stupid questions with an answer of the same caliber.
