    Hello All,
My GM was just contacted by a gentlemen name ""Frank from the GCSAA" to do a survey and study of our facility. He left a message and number 813-505-2100. My GM forwarded me the message and had numerous question and concerns, especially since me, the GCSAA member and course superintendent didn't know ANYTHING about it....

So I called turns out it was a uniform company (Unifirst) that has apparently been contracted by the GCSAA to contact the "people at the top of each club" to conduct the survey?!?!?!? If this is true the only thing more disappointing than the GCSAA condoning such tactics is the people they select for the OTM award.... Anyone else getting this cold calls? And can someone from the GCSAA chime in on this?

    Curt,

I received a survey call (don't recall the purpose of the survey) several months ago from a person claiming to represent the GCSAA. When I pressed the person he admitted that he did not work for the GCSAA but rather a manufacturer and he claimed to have the blessing of the GCSAA. I was a bit annoyed and canceled the call.

I would be interested to hear the response of the GCSAA regarding these issues.

Curtis - Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention, it is unfortunate that UniFirst used this tactic when approaching your club.

It is true that UniFirst is a preferred partner of GCSAA and they do share revenue with the association while offering substantial discounts to facilities that choose to contract their services. Facilities are certainly under no obligation to do business with UniFirst, but UniFirst is offering a GCSAA member discount to the facility.

GCSAA's Director of Corporate Sales, Matt Brown has already reached out to UniFirst with the information you provided to help prevent the use of such tactics witnessed by you and your GM in soliciting future facility business.

Let me know if Matt or myself can provide any additional details to you or your GM and we certainly apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
