I have been using the TDR 300 Moisture Meters for several years now, and just recently upgraded to the 350. Looks like it is pretty straight forward and idiot proof, however, I am having trouble with the calibration on it (so i guess we know who the idiot is...). When I start the calibration process and hold the probes in the air, it comes back with an error message and says "value out of range" Period:2496. So when I take it out to actually take a reading on my greens, the air is reading 20% and the soil reads 0% because it is obviously not calibrated. The book doesn't tell me much...
What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would try popping the batteries out and re-installing. The one I have was doing some odd things when I first turned it on and that seemed to set it straight. Sometimes it's the simple solutions...

    Thanks for the reply Keith,
I tried your recommendation and even replaced the batteries that came with it. No luck...
