I am located in southeast Missouri. I have been applying Primo all season long on a weekly basis. I am currently at 7oz an acre per week. With fall coming on and low temps dropping below 60 degrees, I was curious how long I should keep applying Primo. I plan to get my HOC to 200 and am currently at 135.

    Thanks,
    Charlie B.

Holy Moly 7 oz/A? Not sure about mini verde, but I have Champion in Atlanta and 5.5 oz is my high rate. Yes I have begun lowering my rates, reducing about .5 oz/A a week, and will discontinue in 2-3 weeks depending on temps. My HOC is similar, .125" now, .135" by October 1, eventually to .165" by November

I am on Mini Verde @.130" with 3oz/A primo weekly which seems to be plenty while spoon feeding. I am just watching the temps and clipping yields to determine my reduction in primo use.

    Disclaimer - I have TifEagle

7 oz/week is the highest rate I've heard on bermuda greens of any kind. I've never been over 5 and do not have any issues with scalping or clipping yield. I do ween my greens back on Primo going into the winter but not uniti soil temps start to drop significantly. Currently we are in the mid to upper 80's in the soil here in South Texas. My low rate is 1oz every other week and we spray that all winter.

Primo Surge is fairly well documented and burns tons of carbohydrate. Why waste the stored up carbs just to take the primo away? Keeping the greens slightly regulated will keep a fair carbohydrate reserve (or at least I believe it does). Call me crazy but I have been able to keep my color longer into the winter with the primo still going as well.

I know this does not exactly answer your original questions, but its food for thought

I know a guy that sprays 6oz/A twice a week. How's that for a high rate?

I've got Mini Verde and spray 4oz every 200 GDD. Works well and research shows that higher rates don't have much benefit. With this method your frequency of application decreases as the weather cools. We pretty much stop spraying in late Oct after Club Championship which is our last big event for the year. This gives them time to flush and just get to normal growth rate before we put them to bed.
