As I write this the golf course is currently 80% under water 4 days after the rain stopped. We currently have access to 2 greens by land and 5 are seeing daylight today. One hole is entirely visible. If anybody has any old accessories such as rakes, tee markers, or garbage cans that they would like to get out of the corner of the shop let me know. We will be looking for the plastic tee balls from standard golf in the coming days. I can be reached at timwalker@comcast.net

Tim anyone from South La, Tx, Ms, Al & Fla can feel your pain. May not seem like it today but it will get better.
But not to add more rain to your parade we have a tropical depression sitting in the gulf that is suppose to sit on us for 3 to 4 days dropping from 6-15" of rain depending on whom you are listening to. Then it moves, you got it, northeasterly from here........so more water may be in your future too.

    No worries Dave,

Water goes down about a foot per day. Mowed 2 greens and nursery yesterday and today. No irrigation pump station is almost free of water, later today/tomorrow until we can access. Clubhouse is no longer full of water shop still has a 18-36" to go.

Not a lot of debris just a lot of water to drain off. Figure we should be clear by sunday. I have seen/heard of potential lee. If it rains it rains, don't think we'll see another record flood for a bit. The river was 2' above the old record in our neck of the woods.

Will need some new tee balls in the future.

Glad to hear the water is receeding..........TS Lee has dropped a little over 8" on our course since noon on Friday and is not supposed to move to the east until late tomorrow. We have lots of water also.

Good luck Dave and everyone else down there with you. We cut 15 of 20 greens today to get the toxins out of the plant hopefully. who knows what they absorbed over the last week. Saturday last week was the last day they were mowed. squeegeed silt and picked up some debris. now we have to prepare for ts lee in a couple of days, 2-6" which could put the water right back up where it was a few days ago. The highwater mark was in the middle of the top panel in a 6 panel door at the shop.
