Now I am not an idiot, I know how to build a tee. I am having a difficult time putting it into words. We are going out to bid to build a driving range tee. The current land is flat, and extremely wet. I need to raise the area, maybe a foot? Install drainage, mix, irrigation, etc. This is in southern NJ, thinking Bermuda Grass, and overseed in the winter and spring. We are a small crew so a sand base probably isn't the best(lack of labor to hand water). Does anybody have any from a construction project or anything to help me?

    Hello All,

Looking for some tee construction specs. Had some design work done several years ago, but the Architect, at the time, didn't put drainage into the tees. Trying to put something out to bid in the near future and want to add drainage into the new tee construction.
Feel free to email them if you like.

    Thanks, in advance

    Hi Michael -

I've been through several construction projects, and none required any sub-surface drainage systems. GC Architects that I had normally will "tip" the tee surface 1% from right to left to create surface drainage. We did have very nice well draining native soils to work with (a silty bank run sand). If the tee mix is or will be well draining, a would think that creating surface drainage should work.

    Good luck,

Same here with a 1% sub base slope usually away from the cart path or golfer entrance or exit. Then we use 1.5" of sand then sod it with our nursery. Haven't had any trouble in the last 20 years with wet tees.
