Yep, had a green struck by lightning. Pretty cool site, but worried about the aftermath. What do I need to expect? I plan on aerifying the green and foliar feed every ten days. Any thoughts. This is with the assumption the lines will die?

I have several strikes over the last 30+ years, and have not seen any dieing of the grass. Cup blown out of the green and such, but no brown turf. Hope this helps.

I've had the same green stuck twice in just about he same spot....All I ever did was a topdressing and went back to normal activities. Pretty neat to see how things heal. Unless it was hit hard, take notes and watch it come back.

Other hand I had the lowest tee on the golf course struck and it ruptured a sprinkler head and blew out a 2" line and 4 controller wires.... still trying to figure that one out.

We had a blue/rye tee get hit by lightning and it blew out a 2" line and smoked a few solenoids and some wire. Never had any grass die.

I actually had one of the plastic irrigation control boxes get hit by lightning one year. since it was all plastic except the key hole, the lightning struck the key hole and welded it shut. It did cause me to have to replace everythig inside of it though.

We had a green directly struck. It look like a spider web over the entire green.
It turned all of the lines purple, looked just like a dry spot. We really did nothing and
it healed in a couple of weeks on it's own. You want to talk about a great teaching tool
for the idiot golfer's that think it is ok to play in a thunderstorm, it got their attention.

lightning, electrical damage does not kill turf, however electrical lines, plastic pipes, filled with water can be things damaged by electrical currents for sure! The high level of current in a lightening bolt is amazing, wires can be melted together for sure, fuses blown apart, I have seen copper melted for sure when struck directly! No fun thats why one gets under cover lets nature due her thing and repair after! As we say dont mess with Mother Nature, she always wins!!! Have a great weekend all!
